Better Saves! | Devlog #1


Howdy everyone!


So new Nighttale news! Obviously from the title, new stuff regarding the SAVE feature. Let's go!


New SAVE structure?

Now that Nighttale is further in development, more complicated saving is needed. Before it was just one value, that translated value was the room you saved in. Now, the structure is as follows:

###,RT:ABC,KO:###,LV:##,EXP:#####,FUN:###,G:####

Now let's break it down. The first value (###) is the room saved in, the RT:ABC stands for the route, resetting sets it to Pacifist, A is Pacifist, B for Neutral, and C for Genocide. The KO;### is the kills the player has gotten so far, this doesn't count no-soul monsters. The LV:## is the level. EXP:##### is the EXP the player has so far. FUN;### do I need to explain? G:#### the Gold the player has. Items are saved differently in an array. Oh and I added the RESET button, it sets the SaveData variable to [NO DATA]. Other values like MewKilled and HardMode are independent.


New Music?!?

Yes, Nighttale has NEW MUSIC! You'll see them in Demo 3. And you can listen to them early by going to @tdrrpm on YouTube! There's only one Nighttale song there as of writing this and that is A Truthful Tale.
